BARRE – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Yvette (Gagne) Zampieri, 101, a longtime resident of Barre, on April 19, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Yvette was born on October 3, 1924, to Joseph Gagne and Rose Anna (Gingras) Gagne in Sainte-Agathe, Quebec, Canada.
On May 15, 1943, she married Tullio Zampieri in Barre, they went on to raise ten children together. Tullio passed away in 2014 after 71 years of marriage.
Yvette was a lifetime member of St. Monica Parish, a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America, 4H Leader, volunteer for Red Cross at Central Vermont Hospital, Class helper at Ayers Street School, religious education teacher at St. Monica’s Parish. She also loved selling Avon, sewing and cooking for her family and charity events.
The greatest joy was her family which included ten children, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren.
Yvette leaves behind her children Paul (Penny Millette), Thomas (Kathleen), Debra Fisher (David), Janet Zampeiri (Patrick Stirling), Susan Britto, Tina Bisson (Mark), and Lisa Redmond (Terrence), sister-in-law Marion Gagne, and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Tullio, son Ricky, and daughters Elaine Spargo and Cynthia Gingras. Also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Gagne, and Rose Anna (Gagne) Lemieux, as well as her stepfather, Levi Lemieux. Yvette faced the loss of her brothers, Joseph and Rosaire Gagne, her sisters Gabriella Joyal-Chartier, Margarite (Peggy) Walters-Oistros and Monique Alzaga; her stepsisters and stepbrothers Mary Paul Campeau, Lucille Campeau, Claire Aja (Nicanor), Lionel and Isidore Lemieux.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Yvette’s caregivers, as well as Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice for the care they provided over the last 3 years, allowing her to stay in her home until the end.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate Yvette’s life will be held on May 4, 2026, at St. Monica’s Parish at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours.
