WILLIAMSTOWN – Virginia M. Kennedy, 81, a long-time resident of Lighthouse Hill Road passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.
Born October 8, 1937 in Haverhill, NH, she was the daughter of Frank and Jennie (Hill) Thurston. Virginia attended Sharon Elementary School.
She was first married to Delma Ellis and they had seven wonderful children together. They later divorced and she married Julian Lovely. After Julian’s passing, she married George Kennedy on July 16, 1989. George and Virginia settled on Lighthouse Hill Road after their marriage.
Virginia worked at Malden Mills, retiring after 25 years of employment. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, camping, helping others and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband George Kennedy of Williamstown; her children Martin Ellis of Barre; John Ellis of Minnesota; Michael Ellis and his wife, Jacquelyn of Williamstown; Steven Ellis of Hardwick; Virginia Ellis of Barre; Frank Ellis and his wife, Jean of South Barre; and Judy Bussiere of Barre; her grandchildren Justin, Shaun, Mark, Beth, Julia, Matthew, Jessica, David, Steve, Dawn, Amanda, Shannon and Sammi; and her great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Cadence, Aubrey, Carter, Justin and Logan.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center in the Spring. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.
