BARRE – Virginia “Ginnie” Rose Grant, 84, of Meadowcrest Lane passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
Born May 28, 1935 in Calais, she was the daughter of Willis and Emma (Philbin) Hart. Ginnie attended East Calais Elementary Schools.
Following school, she lived in New York City for six years and moved back to Montpelier where she raised her children and then moved to Barre Town in the early 1980’s. Ginnie worked as a manager in the retail and insurance businesses for many years. Her true calling was that of a caregiver, she found true pleasure in helping others right up until she became sick herself around the age of 80.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, painting and taking care of her kitties. Ginnie loved helping others-especially her children, and her best friend Jesus whom she served as a member of the Lighthouse Christian Church of Montpelier.
Survivors include her daughter Wendy Lynn Grant, and her son Timothy Grant, her two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her brother Roy Hart as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Wendall Hart, and her sisters Olive Boardman and Pauline Camp.
A private service to celebrate and honor Ginnie’s life will be held at the convenience of her family.
