Timothy R. Commeret

BARRE – Timothy R. Commeret, 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 19, 1948, in Abington, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the Reverend Raymond E. and Dorothy R. (Finlaw) Commeret. He attended Eastern Christian Elementary School and graduated from Eastern Christian High School in New Jersey. Following graduation, Tim attended Trinity Jr. College in Chicago, IL where he received an associate’s degree, he then attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI where he received a bachelor’s degree.

In 1971, he married Jean Vissor in Illinois. They divorced in 1977. In 1991, he remarried.

Tim was employed by the Good Samaritan in Barre and Burns Security before joining the bakery staff at Price Chopper.

He was a member of the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Barre Town and a past member of the Cobble Hill Grange #453, Heart of Vermont Pomona – Vermont State Grange, National Grange, Barre Choraleers, Young at Heart Singers and the Barre Senior Center.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing chess, cribbage, scrabble, singing and reading his Bible.

Survivors include his wife of 33 ½ years of marriage, his six stepchildren, his ten step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren and three siblings as well as nine nephews, ten nieces, and numerous cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents.

The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 249 Airport Road, Barre. Following the service, inurnment will take place in the Berlin Corner Cemetery in Berlin. There are no calling hours.
