WILLIAMSTOWN – Theresa L. Poor, 92, of Flint Road passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center. Her family was at her bedside.

Born April 11, 1927 in Williamstown, she was the daughter of Henry Joseph and Laura (Wilfore) Hebert. Theresa attended Williamstown Elementary School and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1945.

On October 20, 1945 she married Weldon (Vet) Poor in the St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Williamstown. Weldon passed away on March 28, 2002.

Theresa was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed time spent with her family. Theresa enjoyed gardening, caring for her flowers, especially her “hens and chickens”, and talking with customers who bought the family maple syrup. She always enjoyed making cookies and intended to have some in the cupboard at all times.

Her memberships included the St. Edward’s Church, Ladies of St. Anne Society, and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She was also a meal site volunteer at the Senior Center in town for over twelve years and for a short while at the meal site in Barre. Additionally, she was a former member of the Williamstown Historical Society.

In 2005 she became a member of the Vermont Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI).

Survivors include her sons Alvin and Douglas Poor of Williamstown; her granddaughters, Michele Poor Dindo and Kristy Poor of Williamstown; her great-grandson Harrison Dindo; her sister Larena Henes of Burlington; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and her husband Weldon Poor, she was predeceased by her son Michael Poor; her siblings Alfred Hebert; Elizabeth Wagner; Katherine Langlois; Robert Hebert; and Harriet Poor.

The Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Edwards Catholic Church, 76 Beckett Street, Williamstown. Following the service, interment will take place in St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville. There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 60 Kimball Avenue, South Burlington, VT 05403, or to the St. Edwards Catholic Church, 200 Vine Street, Northfield, VT 05663.
