PLAINFIELD – Theodore James Cochran, “Tad”, 64, a longtime resident of Walker Lane, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Born on January 29, 1961, in Lakehurst, New Jersey, he was the son of Kenneth and Janice (McCarthy) Cochran. He attended elementary school in Orange and graduated from Spaulding High school in 1980.
Following his schooling, Tad went to work for Kinfolk Memorials, where he worked as a master stone cutter for 42 years before retiring in 2024. He also ran Big ‘C’ Sugaring with his father and sons for 23 years.
Throughout his life, Tad had many hobbies and interests. Those included hunting, especially going on trips to Ohio with his son Elliott and friends, helping to process deer and wild game for himself and friends, playing cards, spending new years eve at the Bibeau’s, attending feeds at the Tucker’s hunting camp, going on fishing charters on Lake Champlain and just being outdoors enjoying the “Nature of his Mountain”.
Survivors include his sons Sean Cochran and Elliott Cochran and his wife, Lauren; his mother Janice Cochran; his grandchildren Aislinn, Declan and Elijah Cochran; his siblings Kenneth Cochran, Jr., Karen Heinlein and Sari Calevro. He also leaves life partner Nola Howder and her daughter Skylar as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Kenneth Cochran, Sr.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Tad’s life will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town. There are no calling hours.
