MONTPELIER - Susan Sanderson, 66, of Montpelier, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in the company of some of her dearest friends.
Susan was the youngest of three children and was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on May 8, 1958, to George and Phyllis Sanderson. Following her father’s passing 3 years later, the family returned to central Vermont, the birthplace of her parents.
She grew up on the Middle Road in South Barre and attended schools in Barre Town and Spaulding High School.
She enjoyed creating art and new recipes. Her touchstone was the coast of Maine which she loved visiting with her friends. She loved collecting art and pretty things which she used to make wherever she lived, her home. Conversation was easy for her, and she enjoyed telling a story with wit, charm and accents, resulting in many a belly laugh. She befriended many throughout her life. She enjoyed long day trips with family and friends visiting both new and familiar locations. Susan maintained strong relationships friends and family, both near and far, throughout her life.
Survivors include her brother Stephen Sanderson and his family of Trion, GA and many cousins, friends and former coworkers. Susan loved her birds, Laddie and Baby.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Jessica Sanderson.
A celebration of Susan’s life will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Pool Pavilion, Montpelier pool complex between 12:00 – 3:00 pm.
In closing her brother would like to express his heartfelt thanks to Lisa Siegle and Debbie Lindelof who have gone above and beyond in comforting Susan in her time of need.
