Steven J. Carpenter

BARRE – Steven J. Carpenter, 68, of Maple Ave, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Birchwood Terrace Healthcare Nursing Home in Burlington.
Born October 15, 1947 in Barre, he was the son of the late Joel Celley and Mabel Evelyn (Hedding) Carpenter. Steven worked as a driver for Granite Group and retired 10 years ago due to ill health.
Steven enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to Thunder Road, and visiting friends at the Dunkin’ Donuts in Barre. He was a member of the Canadian Club.
Steven is survived by; his son, Justin Donahue of Colchester; his daughter Shannon Carpenter of Barre; his sister, Linda Sweeney of Barre; his brother, Joel Carpenter of Kaysville, Utah; his grandsons, Evan and Logan Cross, and long-time friend, Pat Donahue . He is predeceased by his son, Shawn Carpenter.
A funeral service to celebrate and honor Steven will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 am in the New Life Assembly Church, 304 Hill St. in Barre.
