Stacey Hanchett

MONTPELIER - Stacey Hanchett, 56, of Barre Street died peacefully at UVM Medical Center on December 30, 2017 after a brief illness.

Born on April 3, 1961, in St. Johnsbury, VT, he was the son of Philip and Marian (Morris) Hanchett. Stacey graduated from Montpelier High School in 1980. After graduation he began working at the State of Vermont Department of Liquor Control in Montpelier.

Stacey enjoyed running and was an avid race fan attending races weekly at Thunder Road, he also enjoyed bowling, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Survivors include his mother, Marian (Morris) Hanchett of Barre; his brothers Steve Hanchett of Sarasota, FL; Terry Hanchett also of Sarasota, FL; and Thomas Hanchett and his wife, Lori (Mattson) along with their children Bryton and Kirsten Hanchett of Contoocook, NH.

He is preceded by his father Philip Hanchett.

The service to celebrate and honor his life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. There are no calling hours.
