Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN – Ronald “Chip” Saldi, Jr., born December 1, 1964, went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2017. Chip passed at home with family, holding his beloved wife Jennifer’s hand. Chip treasured his family more than anything in this world. It was a true blessing for him to pass at home, after a year-long battle with leukemia. His doctor said he was the toughest patient she’d ever had.

Chip was born in Barre and raised in Williamstown. He graduated from Williamstown High School, the class of 1982. He went onto open his body shop, the “Chop Shop”, and farmed for over twenty years, before taking over the family collection agency. He always longed to return to farming, but God had other plans for him. Chip could do anything, build anything, and run any equipment. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, hunting, logging, and just walking in the woods. He built his kids the Taj Mahal of tree houses while sick with cancer. His faith in Jesus gave him the strength to finish. Chip loved Jesus and knew he was going home to the Lord, our true home. He led many to Christ in the final years of his life, so his work here was finished.

Chip is now reunited with two of his favorite people, his grandfather Gerald “Joe” Davis, and mother Marylou Davis. He is no doubt hanging with them and Uncle Jerry Davis. He is survived by his paternal grandmother Beatrice Jacques; maternal grandmother Maxine Davis; father Ronald Saldi, Sr., and his wife, Cindy; sisters Shawn Stape and her husband, Doug; Julie Henderson and her husband, Kevin; Ann Lamson and her husband, Clayton; his wife, Jennifer Saldi; and his six children Amanda Rancourt and her husband, Tylor; Nicole Saldi; Erin Saldi; Elizabeth Saldi; Ronald “RJ” Saldi, III, and Maria Saldi. He had four grandchildren Violet Rancourt, Eli Saldi, Warden Rancourt and Nora Saldi. There are many surviving relatives, too many to list, including Sherry Englert and her husband, Mark; Carol Davis; Bill Peabody; nieces and nephews including Samantha DiChiara and her husband, Chris; Isabella Giulietta, Aria DiChiara, Michelle Stape, Anthony Stape, Zachery Lamson, Gabriel Lamson, Eric Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Reginald Webster, Mikala Dyman, Sydney Jarvis, Riley Jarvis, Ashlie Webster and Rylie Webster. Other survivors include Gram Audrey Webster; father-in-law Ernest Webster and wife, Trudy; Kyle Miller and Kali Webster; mother -in-law Giselle Eldred and her husband, Frank; Katie Eldred, and brother-in-law Darren Webster and his wife, Renee.

Chip’s last wish for everyone was for all of you to seek Jesus, love and forgive everyone. There will be a celebration of his life on his 53 rd birthday, Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:10 a.m. at the Faith Community Church, Jones Brothers Way, Barre. There are no calling hours.
