BARRE – Ronald Armand Huard, Sr., 77, of Long Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
Born February 7, 1940 in Randolph, he was the son of Romeo and Dorothy (Atkins) Huard. Ron attended Williamstown Elementary and High Schools.
On June 17, 1962, Ron married the love of his life, Jean Margaret Farnham in Barre. They made their home mostly in Vermont. She died on December 24, 2009. On February 7, 2011, he married Nancy Clough in Barre and she survives him.
For many years, Ron was employed in residential housing property management in Vermont, as well as in other states. Later, he became a machine operator at Progressive Plastics in Williamstown. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed fishing and tinkering around the house.
Survivors include his children, Jill Douglas of Springfield, MA; Jackie Sloan and her husband, David of Illinois; Jean Smith and her husband, Gary of Northfield Falls; Jennifer Parry and her husband, Jason of Graniteville; Ronald Huard, III of Graniteville; and Mitchell Huard of Barre; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and his son, Ronald Huard, Jr.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Inurnment will take place in the Wilson Cemetery Columbarium at the convenience of the family.
