WASHINGTON – Ronald L. Collins, 56, of VT Route 110, died Sunday, September 6, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on May 21, 1959 in Barre, he was the son of Henry John and Hilda Louise (Renfrew) Collins. He was a lifelong resident of Washington where he attended school.
On September 26, 1981, Ronald married Tammie Ann Buick. Following their marriage, they made their home in Washington.
For several years, he worked for the Town of Washington mainly in the Highway Department. In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on cars.
Besides his wife, Tammie of Washington, he is survived by his children, Beckie A. Collins-Tilton and her husband, John, Ronald L. Collins, Jr., and Heather J, Collins, all of Washington; three grandchildren, David R. Henault, Jr., Jacqueline C. Collins, and Henry J. Tilton; two brothers, Ernest A. Collins and his wife, Sherry of Graniteville and Charles M. Collins of Barre; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Henry J. Collins, Jr. and Alonzo J. Collins.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held for family and friends at the Collins’ home at 6920 VT Route 110 in Washington on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m.
