ORANGE – Rodney Dean Dimick, 68, of US Route 302, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his home with his family at his bedside.

Born on September 22, 1948 in Hardwick, he was the son of Robert and Amy (Hanks) Dimick. He attended Walden Elementary School and graduated from Danville High School in 1966.

Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving from 1966 to 1969. He later joined the Vermont Army National Guard 50 th MP Company in Northfield.

Rodney was first married to Linda Salls and they later divorced. On April 19, 2002, he married Melissa Ann Chateauvert at their home in Orange.

Rodney worked for Walker Motors, Inc. in Montpelier for seven years and for twenty-two years worked at Green Mountain Power Company. More recently, for the past fifteen years, he was the owner and operator of R&M Maintenance.   He was a former member of the American Legion Post 59 of Waterbury.

Rodney loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing and bird watching. He took pleasure in working with his hands and especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Dimick of Orange; his children, Pamela Chase and her husband, Dwight and children, David “DJ” and Jessica Stone of Orange; Rodney R. Dimick and his wife, Dawn of Marshfield and their children, Angelia D’Amico, Elizabeth McNary, and Christine Paige; Joseph Dimick and his wife, Heidi of Plainfield and daughter, Sydney Dimick; Michael Lemieux and his fiancée, Alicia Hrubovcak of Graniteville; Timothy Lemieux and his companion, Jessica Symonds of Williston; and Kaylee Lemieux of Montpelier. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Corey, Devontay, Braeden, and Azile; his sister, Betty Mercier of Hardwick; his brother, Leslie Dimick of Maine; and nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Interment will follow the service in the Brook Haven Cemetery in Orange.

Family and friends may call on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
