DUXBURY – Robert Henry McGowan, Jr., 66, of Patterson Park passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin with his family at his bedside.
Born March 13, 1953 in Brockton, MA, he was the son of Robert and Marie (Caldwell) McGowan, Sr. He attended elementary school there and graduated from Brockton High School in 1971.
In 1989, he married Victoria Moore in New Hampshire. Following their marriage, they made their home in Danbury, NH. Victoria passed away and after her death, Robert moved to the Central Vermont area, making his home in Washington, Waterbury, Burlington, and Topsham before settling in Duxbury.
Robert was employed as a production worker at Malden Mills, Colt Fire Arms and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing – including deep-sea fishing, back road riding, four-wheeling, camping and tinkering.
Survivors include his partner, Lori Flynn of Duxbury; his son Chad McGowan and his wife, Alijah of Barre Town; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Feehan and her husband, Robert of Colchester; as well as his grandchildren Annie, Shaelyn, and Kinley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Robert McGowan, his grandson Anthony McGowan, and his sister Annie McGowan.
The gathering to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the VFW Post #790, 527 US Route 302 in East Barre. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Washington on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
