WILLIAMSTOWN - Robert A. “Bob” Lamphear, Sr., 84, of Baptist Street passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Born on May 17, 1939, in Cabot, he was the son of Harold and Mable (Barnett) Lamphear. Robert attended Cabot Schools.
On August 30, 1958, he married Ina Hanna in Barre. Following their wedding they lived in Cabot, Hardwick, Middlesex, Montpelier, Barre City and Williamstown.
Bob held various jobs throughout his life including Cabot Creamery, Celenti & Bianchi Stone Shed, Huntington Homes, and ended his career as a painter.
He was a member of New Life Assembly Church where he served on the board of Deacons. In his younger days he had also been a member of the Elks Club and Moose Lodge, both in Barre.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed family vacations, especially those in Florida, visiting with friends and family, marshmallow fights, puttering around the house, and going to yard sales and with a twinkle in his eye would say “that will be worth something someday.”
Survivors include his children Diana L. Johnson and her husband, Albert, Jr. of Williamstown, VT; Robert A. Lamphear, Jr. and his wife, Pamela of Montpelier, VT; Jeffrey A. Lamphear, Sr. of Taylorsville, KY; Kerry L. Lamphear and partner, Stephanie Parks of Middlesex, VT; Larry A. Lamphear of Stannard, VT; and Traci L. Desrochers of Milton, VT; a daughter in love, Belinda Lamphear of St. Albans, VT and a son in love James Desrochers of Essex, VT; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; his sister Beverly Scott and her husband, Bernard of Barre, VT; his brother-in-law John Hanna of Niles, OH and his brother-in-law Eddie Hanna and his wife, Carol of Norwalk, OH as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Ina; his daughter, Teri Ann; his grandson, Christopher Hallock; great-grandson Dillen Hallock; and his great-great grandson, Christopher Wicker, Jr; his daughter-in-law, Claudia Lamphear; his granddaughter, Charlotte Lamphear; his great-granddaughter Alisha Lamphear; his brothers Carl, Harold, Jr., and David; his sisters Dorothy Clark, Ida Foster, Eugina Pouliot, Thelma Trybulski, Evelyn Ciesiensky, Genevieve Piro, and Margaret Lawson; and sister-in-law, Patricia Hanna.
The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the New Life Assembly Church, 304 Hill Street, Barre. Inurnment will be made following the service in the Durant Cemetery in Cabot. There are no calling hours.
