BARRE – Robert S. Hunt, 81, of the North Barre Manor and a long-time Williamstown resident passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.

Born February 5, 1937 in New Jersey, he was the son of George and Gertrude Hunt. He attended elementary and high school in New Jersey.

Robert made his home in Williamstown for many years. he enjoyed wintering in Florida, and spending summers in Braintree in a camper.

He was employed as a diesel engine mechanic before retiring from the Town of Randolph after years of employment.

Robert was a life time member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and very active with the Williamstown Fire Department serving as chief for a few years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed shooting guns, hunting, fishing and fixing up old tractors.

Survivors include his sons Steven Hunt of South Carolina; Fred Hunt and his wife, Debra, of Barre; Tim Hunt and his wife, Sherri, of Tennessee; and William Hunt of Williamstown; four grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.

A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the convenience of the family.
