ORANGE – Dr. Robert M. Dole, Jr., 84, of Kimberlee Lane, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 4, 1937, in Rowley, Massachusetts, he was the son of Robert and Natalie Dole. He attended elementary school in Georgetown, Massachusetts and graduated from Perley High School in 1954. He went on to earn his P.H.D. in Biology and Glacial Geology from the University of Michigan in 1969.
Robert married Silvia Johnson and had two children. Silvia passed away in 2009. He then went on to marry Linda Williams in Plainfield on August 7, 2014. The two made their home in Plainfield before moving to Orange. He was a member of Christ Community Alliance Church in Orange.
He held many different careers throughout his life. These included being a professor at Western Connecticut State University and starting Brick House Business Services which was a tax preparation service in Plainfield.
Some of Robert’s hobbies and interests included woodworking and carving, gardening, shopping for antiques and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Dole; his two sons Martin Dole and his wife, Anita; Fred Dole and his wife, Kimberly; his stepdaughter Debra Dimick and her husband, Brian; his stepdaughter-in-law Stacey Massey; his brother Stanley Dole; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepson, John Massey, Jr.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Robert’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
