HENDERSONVILLE, NC - Robert L. Colombo, formerly of Barre, born on August 23, 1940, in Washington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina at the age of 85. He initially retired to South Carolina before later settling in Etowah, North Carolina.

Robert led a distinguished life in Barre, Vermont, as the owner and operator of Colombo Granite Company. His commitment to the business and to the Barre Granite Association in general was admired by all.

Robert was recently preceded in death by his beloved wife Jacqueline (Jackie) Audet Colombo. He was the son of the late Americo D. Colombo and Mary Roberts Colombo. Robert is survived by his sister Kathleen (Kay) and brother-in-law, Brian Barquin.

Robert will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Robert's legacy lives on through his daughters, Kristin Burke and her husband Michael, and Kim Barber and her husband Michael. He was a proud grandfather to his two grandchildren, Michael C. Burke and Kate Burke, who brought joy to his life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Robert was very mechanically inclined and became very involved in woodworking. He created many decorative items and numerous pieces of furniture. He enjoyed fishing, boating and sailing. Robert and his late wife dedicated much of their time volunteering in the different communities in which they had lived. They especially enjoyed traveling, often sharing those experiences with close friends.

Robert’s legacy of integrity, strength and tenacity, not to mention his comedic and charismatic personality will be remembered by all that knew him.
