BARRE – Rina L. Watson, 94, a long-time resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Wilbraham, Massachusetts surrounded by family.

Born on September 1, 1930, in Barre she was the daughter of Albert and Eleanora (Bianchi) Gherardi. She attended local elementary schools and high school and graduated from the Barre City School of Nursing with an RN degree.

On October 27, 1951, she married Norman Watson, the love of her life and they made their home in Barre.

Whether it was for her patients or her family, Rina dedicated her life to being an amazing caregiver. In her spare time, she loved to spend time with her family. She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Rina lived a long and wonderful life, which included dancing at all her grandchildren’s weddings.

Survivors include her daughters Kathie Louis of Leeds, MA and Karen Dusini and her husband, Paul of East Falmouth, MA; her grandchildren Matthew (Liz) Alves, Michal (Brian) Ricca, Devon (Kathy) Alves, Gino (Jenn) Gendron; and her great-grandchildren Patrick, Madylan, Brendan, Zackary, Tiago, Wesley and Luca; and her sister Dorothy Buttura. Rina was blessed to live with Michal’s family during her last year.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Norman Watson and her siblings Elaine Taylor and Albert Gherardi, Jr.

A private graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the convenience of her family later this year.
