ORANGE – Richard A. Williams, 63, of George Street passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at his home with his family at his bedside.
Born February 2, 1956 in Barre, he was the son of John and Isabelle (Dow) Williams. He attended Orange Center Elementary School and Spaulding High School. In 1979, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served until he was honorably discharged in 1982.
On August 8, 1987 he married Barbara Ann Hutchinson in Thetford. Following their marriage, they made their home in Orange.
Richard was employed by the State of Vermont, Agency of Transportation for many years, retiring in April of 2018 at the age of 62.
He was a member of the Christ Community Alliance Church in Orange and in his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as camping, fishing, kayaking, and tinkering on projects.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Williams of Orange; his children Robert Williams and his wife, Brenda of Orange; Allen Williams of Washington; and Wesley Williams and his wife, Amanda of Barre; his granddaughter Alanna Lewis; his sisters Linda Dole and her husband, Robert of Orange; and Amy Gratton and her husband, Randy of Plainfield.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Leona Williams and his brother John Williams.
The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Christ Community Alliance Church in Orange. There are no calling hours. Inurnment in the Orange Center Cemetery will take place at the convenience of his family.

The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre assisted the Williams family with the arrangements.
