Richard Sanborn

EAST MONTPELIER – Richard Sanborn, 91, of Sandy Pines Road passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Born on January 24, 1933, in Barre, he was the son of Leo and Amanda (Meeker) Sanborn. He attended local elementary schools.

On April 25, 1952, he married Ruth DuBois in Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in East Barre and Washington before settling in East Montpelier.

Richard was employed as a Lumper and Crane Operator at Beck and Beck Granite until his retirement.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and collecting antique toys. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family as they meant the world to him.

Survivors include his wife Ruth Sanborn, his sons Edmund Sanborn and his wife, Linda; Clarence Sanborn and his wife, Ellie; and Kenneth Sanborn; his daughters Linda Beede and her husband, Duane and Bonnie Smith and partner Paul Racicot and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as his brother Stewart Sanborn.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Sanborn, his brother Leo Sanborn, Jr., and his son Raymond Sanborn.

The service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours.
