UNDERHILL – Richard George Angelino, 73, of Downes Road, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. His family had been at his bedside.
Born May 24, 1942 in Barre City, he was the son of Libero P. and Lucy (Batchelder) Angelino. He graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre City in 1961 and later graduated from Comerford Flight School at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Dick was a long-time commercial airline captain, flying for Executive Airlines, Air New England, People’s Express which later merged with Continental Airlines from which he retired in May of 2002.
On October 12, 1963 he married Linda C. Craig in the Barre Congregational Church. Most of their married life had been spent in Underhill.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and was an avid outdoorsman and the camaraderie of the Mutuo, Inc., in Barre, and his loss will be felt forever.
Besides his wife, Linda, Dick leaves 2 sons James Angelino and his companion, Deborah Tilton, of South Burlington and John Angelino and his wife, Denise, of Underhill and a granddaughter, Bryce Angelino, and 4 grandsons: Michael, Alex, Oliver, and Benjamin Angelino, his aunt Mildred Batchelder and cousins Barbara Ozog, Sandra and Shirley Batchelder and Dana and Thomas Comstock, more distant relatives and many dear friends and flying colleagues.
The service to honor and celebrate Dick’s life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Barre Congregational Church.
There are no calling hours.
