WILLIAMSTOWN – Reginald Leo Pickett, 67, of Jamieson Road, died on Saturday, February 28, 2015 after a long illness with his family at his bedside.
Born April 27, 1947 in Barre, he was the son of Raymond and Angie (Harris) Pickett. He had attended several Vermont area schools during his childhood.
Reginald was a proud veteran of the United State Marine Corps having received a National Defense Service Medal and a Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. Most of his life had been spent working in the granite industry, where he had been employed by several local granite sheds.
In early years he had been a member of Barre American Legion Post #10.
Reginald enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include his partner of 23 years, Sandra Norton; his daughter Patricia Edson and her partner Dick Dunn of Williamstown; and his son Reginald Picket and his wife Cindy also of Williamstown; his stepson Michael Goslant of Barre, and stepdaughter Virginia Shirlock and her partner, Jeremy Fleury, of Williamstown; as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Lawrence Pickett and his wife, Martha, of Chelsea; and Raymond Pickett of Waitsfield.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Jimmie Pickett.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town, later this spring.
