Raymond W. Santamore

PLAINFIELD – Raymond Wayne Santamore, 74, a longtime resident of East Hill Road passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the McLure Miller Respite House in Colchester.

Born on July 11, 1949, in Barre, he was the son of Joseph and Harriet (Morse) Santamore. He attended school in Orange.

Following his schooling, Raymond went to work in the granite quarries. He worked for multiple local quarries in his 40 plus year career, before his retirement.

On March 5, 1982, he married Margaret Mathieu in Barre. The two made their home in Plainfield, where they lived until her passing in 2011.

In his spare time, Raymond enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and playing cards with his family and friends.

Survivors include his brothers Lyle Santamore of Plattsburgh, NY, Harold Santamore of East Montpelier and David Santamore of Plainfield, his sisters Ellen Moore of Barre and Janet Santamore of Groton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Raymond’s life will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Duxbury. There are no calling hours.
