BARRE TOWN – Phyllis E. Painchaud, 91, of Ridgewood Terrace passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin with her family at her bedside.
Born December 14, 1927 at home on Bianchi Street in East Barre, the daughter of Philip and Mary Elnora “Nora” (Dexter) Blanchard.
Phyllis attended East Barre School and Spaulding High School.
On February 7, 1948 she married Philip L. Paquet in East Barre following their marriage they made their home in Virginia eventually returning to Vermont, settling in Washington.
Phyllis worked as a hot lunch cook for Chelsea School where she enjoyed all the students. She also worked for the former Central Vermont Hospital in the business office until her retirement.
On October 10, 2005 she married Richard B. Painchaud in Dunbarton, NH and they made their home in Barre Town.
She was a member of the East Barre Congregational Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was in the ladies’ auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Richard Painchaud of Barre Town; her daughter Cheryl Paquet Buzzi and her husband, Michael; her grandsons, her pride and joy, Louis (Chuck) Paquet and his partner, Melissa Palana; Travis Paquet and his wife, Hilary; Phillip Paquet, James (Jim) Buzzi and his wife, Laurie; David Buzzi; great-grandchildren Colby Paquet, Emmeline Paquet, Patrick Paquet, Jasper Paquet, Ella Paquet, Nicole Buzzi, Natalie Buzzi, and Leah Buzzi; Melanie Dunlevy and her two sons Robert and his fiancée, Tara and their son, Logan; and Jonathan Dunlevy; as well as her step-children Richard B. Painchaud, Jr. and his wife, Yvonne “Dolly”; Jane Misslin and her husband, Michael; Kathryn Larue and her husband, Adrian; Elizabeth Gillespie and her wife, Carla Cooke; and Rebecca Laurin and her husband, Jamie; step-grandchildren Andrea Rowley; Dana Painchaud and his wife, Sheila; Megan Arnold and her husband, Devon; Michael Misslin; Jeannette Balboni and her husband, Mark; Melanie Lubas and her husband, Joshua; Sarah Gillespie-Heyman and her husband, Phillip; Kathleen Gillespie; Hannah Laurin; Kaitlin Gobell and her husband, Brian; and Collin Laurin and his wife, Melanie; as well as step-great-grandchildren John Ross Rowley, Julia Rowley, Lilly Arnold; Gage Arnold; Madelynn Lubas; Adein Balboni; Zachary Balboni; Leo Gobell; Zoe Gobell; and Noah Laurin.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her son Louis Dexter Paquet, her siblings Dean, Luther, Maynard and Richard Blanchard and L. Olive Vermette.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wilson Cemetery in Lower Websterville. There are no calling hours.
