BARRE – Philip DeCroti, 56, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin with his family at his bedside.

Born July 16, 1962 in Coney Island, New York, he was the son of Anthony and Nelida Estrella Lopez (DeVictoria) DeCroti. Philip attended elementary and high school in New York and made his home there before moving to Vermont.

He was a self-employed as a property maintenance technician. Philip belonged to the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Montpelier and was confirmed as a Catholic there. He was also a member of the U.S. Judo Association with his father and older brother Wayne DeCroti in Brooklyn.

In his spare time, Philip enjoyed fishing, had a love for music, judo and most of all loved his family.

Survivors include his partner, Carol Milam of Barre; his daughter, Page DeCroti of Barre; his granddaughter Ava Kennedy; as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Augustine Catholic Church, Barre Street, Montpelier.   There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to his granddaughter Ava Kennedy, 7 Academy Street, Barre, VT 05641.
