BARRE – Pauline Emily Shannon, 78, of South Seminary Street passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin.
Born October 5, 1941 in Irvington, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Frank W. and Emily (Kirschenmann) Shannon. Pauline attended local elementary schools and graduated from high school in New Jersey. While in high school, she was a member of the Sharpshooter team.
After high school, she became an Army wife and moved around a lot before moving settling in Vermont in 2014.
Pauline was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Barre. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, travelling, spending time with her family and friends – she loved her children and grandchildren, and helping those in need.
Survivors include her daughters Kristine Smith and her partner, Dennis Riley and their daughter, Lehana; Donna Sellers; grandchildren Curtis, Nicole, Nancy, and Jimmy as well as several adopted grand-children; her special friends Beth and Brian and her dog, Lady and her grandcat, Sadie Anne.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Frederick and her sister Emmaline.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the convenience of her family.

Pauline will be remembered for her positive outlook on life and also for the loving, caring, and supportive mother that she was. She would do anything for anyone if she had it. That was how she raised us.
