Paul F. Widmer, Jr.

ORANGE – Paul Freeman Widmer, Jr., 82, of Spencer Road passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin.

Born June 10, 1936 in Woodstock, he was the son of Paul F. and Grace L. (Morrill) Widmer, Sr. Paul attended Woodstock Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army National Guard.

On August 29, 1964, he married Margo Joyce Ming in Washington. They first made their home in Washington, before moving to Middlesex and eventually settling in Orange. Margo passed away in October of 2017.

Paul was employed by Sprague Electric, Jackson Dairy and Gallagher Lumber. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and birdwatching.

Survivors include his children Scott Widmer and his wife, Tina of Northfield; Tina Widmer of Washington, Penny Widmer and her partner, Joshua Harless of Graniteville; Beverly White and her husband, Brent of Stowe; Steven Premont of Barre, and Henry Premont of Williamstown; his grandchildren Francis Skiffington, Jr., Robin Skiffington, Michael Knowles, Natasha Hoskins, Aaron Oszajca, Jessica Oszajca, Craig Premont, Jade Premont, and Kenneth Harless; his great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Maria, Trevor, Collyn and Adalynn; his siblings David Widmer and his longtime companion, Diana of Barre; Thomas Widmer of Island Pond, and Judith Harper of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Margo Widmer and his siblings Frederick, Patricia and Carol.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.
