P aul H. Brassard
EAST BARRE — Paul H. Brassard, 73, of East Barre, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 9, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.
Paul was born on August 29, 1951, in Hartford, CT, to Bernard and Doris (Bolduc) Brassard. His family later moved to Vermont, where he graduated from Marian High School in 1969. Shortly after high school, Paul was drafted to the US Navy Seabees. He proudly served his country from 1971 to 1976, which included time in the Vietnam War.
On September 18, 1987, he married Bonnie Coppins. Following their marriage, they made their home in East Barre where they raised their son, Kristopher. They later divorced but were able to continue their friendship until his passing.
Paul was self-employed alongside his brother Bill, as a licensed plumber, electrician, and carpenter. He always kept himself busy with various projects. He lived by the saying, “work hard, play harder” and will forever be remembered for his boisterous laugh and zest for life.
In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting in Peacham, fishing in Ontario, snowmobiling, camping, cooking, and traveling. He would travel anywhere that made sure he could brag about his tan when he returned. He lived for the relationships he built through his various memberships including the Mutuo, American Legion Post #10 of Barre, the Canadian Club of Barre, VFW Post #790 of East Barre, and the Barre Lodge of Elks #1535.
Paul is survived by his loving partner, Darcy Parker, his son and daughter-in-law, Kristopher and Holli Brassard, his siblings William (Pamela) Brassard, Lawrence (Judith) Brassard, David (Sandy) Brassard, Denise (Rocky) Jacques, as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew Adam Brassard.
