Patricia M. Jones

WILLIAMSTOWN – Patricia Mae Jones, 70, of Soucy Lane, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at her home with her family at her side after a valiant fight with cancer.

Born on March 2, 1947 in Barre, she was the daughter of Maurice Joseph and Dulcina Adele (St. Cyr) Goulette. She attended St. Monica Elementary School and Marian High School both in Barre. Pat attended St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre.

In December of 1991, Patricia married Arthur A. Jones in Williamstown. Following their marriage, they lived in Williamstown before moving to Missouri. After several years, they returned to Williamstown.

While living in Missouri Pat made lifelong friendships with the Amish community especially Ellie, Ruth Ann, Mary, Ida Rose and their families. She belonged to multiple animal associations including the Foxtrot Association for horses. In Vermont, Pat continued to have a deep love and respect for all animals especially horses and her dog, “Bud”. She enjoyed farming, embroidery, crafts, painting, etching, and sewing.

For thirty years, she was an accountant for the State of Vermont in the Motor Vehicle and Highway Departments until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Jones of Williamstown; four daughters, Amy and her husband, John Graves of North Carolina, Kim and her husband, Chuck Wilson of Missouri, Rae Dunican of Vermont, Kara Chasse and her husband, Matthew of Massachusetts; her son, Chad Benoit of Kansas; three stepchildren, Tara Reil and her husband, Terry of Barre Town, Rebecca Lew and her husband, David of Georgia and George Jones and his wife, Jenine of Georgia; twenty-six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and her sister, Theresa Boudreau of Colchester.

She was predeceased by her parents, her grandson William Claus and first husband, Norman Benoit.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. There are no calling hours. Later inurnment will take place in the spring in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
