MONTPELIER – Norma Scott Wark, 100, of Montpelier, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2026, at the Gary Residence.

Norma was born in Sweetsburg, Quebec, on April 9, 1926, to Arnold and Jessie Jones. She later met Franklin Warner Wark, and they were married on June 14, 1947, shortly after Norma moved to Vermont. Together, they started a family and opened Norm’s Donuts in Barre and Norm’s Deli in Montpelier, eventually building their forever home in Montpelier.

Norma and Warner enjoyed the company of family and friends and loved traveling to various campgrounds throughout New England. Later, they purchased a camp on Harvey’s Lake, where they made many happy memories. Norma and Warner were married for 40 years to the day before his death on June 14, 1987.

After Warner’s passing, Norma continued with the family business and her love of traveling. One of her greatest travel memories was visiting family in Australia, where she had the unique experience of picking her own opals from the local mines.

Norma was a lifetime Auxiliary member of VFW Post 792 and a member of the Montpelier Elks Emblem Club, where she served as President in 1997, 1998 and 2002.

Later in life, Norma met Sonny Lafaille, and the two became great companions. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with family and friends.

Norma was predeceased by her husband, Warner Wark; son, James Wark; sister, Donna Reed, and her husband, Arthur; and companion, Sonny Lafaille.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lambert; son, Peter Wark and his wife, Pam; and daughter, Mari Cato; as well as four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Lafaille family for their longtime friendship and support.

At Norma’s request, a private service will be held for family and friends.
