BARRE – Norma G. Setien, 94, of Thomas Street passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Born on June 2, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Carlo and Enes (Geffa)(Giostra) Quattropani. She attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School with the class of 1947.

On September 26, 1953, she married Valentino Setien in Barre where they made their home all their married lives.

In her earlier years, Norma worked in her mother’s family-owned store, Bud’s Market until she became a stay-at-home mother to her two children.

Norma enjoyed reading, watching her soaps on television, and looking forward to reading the newspaper to keep up on world news as well as her community. She loved anything to do with Tony Bennett and Tom Selleck. Norma had a kind, generous and strong soul and was a great conversationalist.

Survivors include her son Steven Setien and his wife, Heidi along with their furbabies Coco and Bella of Barre; her dear friend Sher Yacono and her sisters-in-law Myrna Setien, Margaret Giostra, and Fran Setien as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Valentino Setien, her daughter Pamela Tucker, and her brother George Giostra.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 25 Keith Avenue, Barre, VT  05641 or the Vermont Foodbank, 33 Parker Road, Barre, VT  05641.
