Nancy C. Monroe

BARRE – Nancy C. Monroe, 73, of Highgate Drive passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Born on July 22, 1950, in Windsor, she was the daughter of Augusta and Loretta (Monette) Monroe.  She attended Duxbury Corner Elementary School and graduated from Harwood Union High School in 1969.  After high school, she attended Community College of Vermont and completed her schooling there in 1989.

Nancy made her home in Waterbury, Burlington, Montpelier, Daytona Beach, Florida and Lancaster, Pennsylvania before settling in Barre.

She was employed by Cumberland Farms, Price Chopper, Community College of Vermont and the State of Vermont.  In her spare time, she enjoyed writing to her friend Barry Ryan who lives in England, playing games on her computer, and watching certain tv shows as well as sitting outside watching the birds and squirrels.

Survivors include her children Robert Boardman of Barre, Angel Boardman Hurlburt of Waterbury, and Gary Boardman also of Barre; her four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and her siblings Pat Monroe Boardman, Bellows Falls, VT and Francis Monroe, Bennington, VT as well as two nieces and one nephew.

The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the convenience of her family.
