BERLIN – Mona Bailey beloved mother, wife, and friend passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her home in Berlin.
Her parents were Arthur Thomas and Roberta Frances Parker. She grew up in Newport and graduated from Newport High School class of 1955.
After high school, Mona went into nurses training at Heaton Hospital in Montpelier. She worked at Heaton Hospital, Central Vermont Hospital and Oral Surgery for many years. She loved working and loved the people she worked with.
On September 30, 1961, Mona married Clifton Bailey in Westminster, VT.
Mona loved all her animals throughout her life, especially her kitties. She and Clif spent almost 20 years every winter at their home in Ocala, FL and summers in their home in Berlin.
Survivors include her husband Clif, her daughter Allison Shepard and her husband, Michael, her son Craig Bailey and his wife, Noelle Mackay, her four grandchildren Dr. Samantha Montgomery and her husband, William; Ellen Shepard, Alexander Shepard and Benjamin Shepard, her sisters-in-law Barbara Beyor and her husband, Brent; Nancy Halstrom and Elizabeth Wild, and her brother-in-law Doug Gilbert.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Winston and Phillip Thomas and her brothers-in-law Richard Halstrom, Leo Conery, and Raymond Wild and her mother-in-law Florence Bailey.
The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. There are no calling hours.
