WILLIAMSTOWN – Michelina Maria Dickinson, 78, of Hebert Road passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at her niece’s home.

Born October 14, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Conchetta (Larosa) Bavaro. Michelina attended schools in Brooklyn, NY before moving to New Britain, CT.

While living in New Britain, she met Richard Dickinson, Sr. and they were married in Connecticut in April of 1970. After their marriage they moved to Williamstown, VT.

Michelina attended the Thompson School of Nursing and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. After graduation, she worked at Rowan Court as a nurse for ten years. During this time, she was also a member of the Williamstown Select board, and served as Health Officer for the town as well as being an EMT.   Richard and Michelina decided to move back to Connecticut and she worked at the Haven Health Center as a nurse for over 14 years before eventually moving back to Vermont.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking especially Italian food, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Richard Dickinson, Jr., and his companion, Donna of Bristol, CT; Laurie Dickinson of Williamstown, VT; John Smith of Kingsford, ME; and Ramona Smith and her husband, Larry Manning of Norwich, CT; her grandchildren Brittany, Josh, Jamie, Martha, Casey and Christian; several great-grandchildren; her niece Helen Duke and her husband, Horace with whom she lived, as well as several other nieces and nephews; and her brothers Franky, Dominic, Vito, and Tommy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard Dickinson, Sr.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Roxbury Cemetery on Route 12A in Roxbury. There are no calling hours.
