BARRE TOWN – Michael B. Lunt, 66, of Miller Road passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Massachusetts General Hospital with his family at his bedside.

Born on September 8, 1957, in Barre, he was the son of Claude and Celia (Taft) Lunt, Sr.  He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School.

On June 16, 1990, he married Debbie Lavigne in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre.  Following their marriage, they made their home in Barre.

Micheal was employed by the Barre Sign Company and Gilles Sales and Service before joining that staff at Riverton Memorials where he was a sawyer for over thirty years.

He was a member of the St. Monica Catholic Church, the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST), and the Northeast Hot Rod Association.  In his spare time, he enjoyed snowmobiling, making remote control boats and cars, building his own hot rod car from scratch - a 32 Ford Coupe, biking, painting crafts, airbrushing and most of all time spent with family.

Survivors include his wife Debbie Lunt and his siblings Claude “Smokey” Lunt (Sheila) of Barre, Susan Miller (Kevin) of Arizona, and Peggy Parker (Les) of Barre as well as numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents Claude and Celia Lunt, Sr.

The graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Barre.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barre Town Thunder Chickens, PO Box 273, South Barre, VT  05670, or to the National Street Rod Association, 4030 Park Avenue, Memphis, TN 38111.
