EAST BARRE – Maurice D. Barile, 79, of Washington Road, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at his home.
Born on September 21, 1937 in Barre, he was the son of Emil and Marie (Goulet) Baril. He attended St. Monica Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1957. After graduation, Mo served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a SGT.
On June 17, 1067, Maurice married Judith L. Lafreniere in Mother Cabrini Catholic Church in East Barre. Following their marriage, they made their home in Montpelier before moving to their present home in East Barre in 1971.
Mo worked as a sandblaster at the Rock of Ages manufacturing plant in Graniteville for forty years until his retirement.
His interests were gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Baril of East Barre; his son, James A. Baril and his wife, Heather of Barre; his daughters, Jodi Demell and her husband, Bill and Jennifer Baril, all of East Barre; and his grandchildren, Christina Baril, Danial Baril, Mason Demell and Sophia Demell.
Mo was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Raymond, Norman, Paul, Andy, Roger, and Charlie Baril.
His services will be at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours.
