BURLINGTON – Mary Patricia Ramon of Burlington, Vermont passed peacefully on January 27, 2024.
Born on March 2, 1942, in Barre, Vermont, Mary Pat was the daughter of the late Kathleen Skerry Ramon and Edward A. Ramon. She was a member of the Marian High School Class of 1960 and graduated with honors from Trinity College.
For 35 years, Mary Pat was employed by the State of Vermont in the Department of Public Health. Despite several years with a chronic illness, Mary Pat lived fully until her passing. Blessed with a bright mind and a sharp wit, she cherished time with her family, was an avid reader and moviegoer and enjoyed the frequent company of her friend Kathy. She was a devotee of all libraries and looked forward each year to her trips to the beaches of Maine.
Mary Pat is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Mary Ramon of South Deerfield, Massachusetts, her brother Timothy Ramon of Barre, Vermont, as well as her nieces Allyson (Joel) and Kelly, nephews Michael (Sherri) and Matthew (Shannon) and great-nephews, Hunter and Garrett.
The service to celebrate and honor her life will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hooker Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Following the service, interment will take place in Hope Cemetery in Barre. Family and friends may call an hour before the service at 12:00 p.m. noon at the funeral home.
