BARRE TOWN - Mary Anne (LeRoy) Parnigoni, 82, a long-time resident, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Venice, Florida.
Born on March 24, 1943, she was the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Lewis) LeRoy. She attended schools in Barre including Lincoln School where, in the sixth grade, she met her husband of 55 years, Ron Parnigoni. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1961 in the National Honor Society and with the DAR Good Citizenship award.
She worked for a time in the Granite Savings Bank and for an insurance company before becoming a full time mom to their two daughters, Cara and Kim. She was active in the community on the executive committee of the Spaulding Alumni Association, an organizer of the Barre Rotary Home Show for many years, an officer in Christian Women’s Club, a board member in the Salvation Army, an officer in the Auxiliary of the Gideons and a member of Eastern Star.
She was very musically talented, she loved to play the piano and the organ, and she loved to sing. She was a member of the Barre Choraleers, she sang with the von Trapp singers at Expo in Montreal, she was a long-time member of their church choir and she played in their church gospel band, "Hedding Home". Besides her joy in music, she had a passion (and a green thumb!) for gardening, needlework and crafting - she had a natural talent for decorating and for making any occasion beautiful. She loved her family and organized many memorable family gatherings. Her faith in Jesus was very important in her life and because of that we have the blessing of knowing that we will once again be able to gather together.
She leaves behind her daughters Cara Dunn and her husband, Jeff and Kimberly Jones and her husband, Brant as well as her grandchildren Christian Dunn, Justin Dunn and his wife, Gabriela and Elena and Meghan Jones as well as many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ronald Parnigoni, her brother John LeRoy and her brother-in-law and his wife, Richard and Joan Parnigoni.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery in Barre. There are no calling hours.
