BARRE- Martha "Sue or Suzy” McBride, 88, died at home on September 13, 2026.

Sue was born on March 4, 1938, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to Cecile and Evelyne Graves. In 1957, she married Daniel "Danny" McBride, and together they built a life full of family, hard work, and adventure.

Sue retired from the State of Vermont, Forest and Parks/Environmental Control after working thirty plus years.

In 1963, Sue and Danny moved from Brookfield to Barre Town, where they made their home on a horse farm. Sue was happiest outdoors. She loved her gardens and spent her days working outside on the farm, where, thanks to Danny, there was always plenty of hay. She and Danny traveled widely over the years and were fortunate to spend their winters in Florida.

Sue is survived by her three daughters, Denise (Ted Clark) McBride, Patricia (Erich) Ristau, and Lisa (Paul) Seaver; three grandchildren, Nicole (Lee) Korbutt, Daniel (Nicole) Corbett, and Shelly (Michael) Trepanier; and four great-grandchildren, Raymond Korbutt, Colton Corbett, Kennedy Corbett, and Maddox Corbett.

She was predeceased by her parents, Cecile and Evelyne Graves; her husband, Daniel McBride; her brothers, Cecile (Sandy), and Robert Graves; and her grandson, Shaun Corbett.

Per Sue’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held at the convenience of her family.

Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity of someone’s choice in Sue’s memory.
