Marjorie Couillard

WEBSTERVILLE – Marjorie Couillard, 94, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Barre Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on January 25, 1931, in Barre Town, she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Fuller) Payne. At the age of three, Marjorie’s family moved to Washington where she grew up.

She attended Washington Elementary School, Barre Town Elementary School, Spaulding High School and graduated from Williamstown High School.

On November 6, 1954, she married Willard Couillard in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Websterville. Following their marriage, they first lived in Barre, before moving to Graniteville and eventually settling in Websterville.

While living in Washington, Marjorie attended the Washington Baptist Church and was a youth group member and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Barre Baptist Church and a long-time member of the Graniteville Presbyterian Church including serving on the board of trustees. Lastly, she attended the Websterville Baptist Church. Marjorie was involved in the PTA and girl scouts while her children were young.

She worked for the former Montgomery Wards retiring after 20 years of service.

In her spare time, she enjoyed her family, church, reading, walking around the neighborhood, cross-country skiing, traveling, and camping. She especially enjoyed summer vacations on Higgins Beach in Maine.

Survivors include her three children Charmane McKenzie (Steve), Chuck Couillard (Rhonda), and Dan Couillard (Sandy), and her grandchildren Tara Partlow (Josh), Ryan McKenzie (Amy Morse), Racheal Hill (Jason), and Matt Couillard (Jasmin) as well as six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Willard Couillard, her grandson Daniel W. Couillard, her sisters Lida Mugford (Wayne) and Mae Braman (Howard), and her brother Vern Payne and her special uncle Homer Fuller.

The service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Websterville Baptist Church, 143 Church Hill Road, Websterville. There are no calling hours.

Marjorie’s family would like to give a special thank you to the Barre Gardens for their compassion and exceptional care.
