WILLIAMSTOWN – Marilyn A. Raper, 76, of Route 14 passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at her home.
Born December 31, 1942 in Barre, she was the daughter of Floyd Ray and Mary Jane (Bradley) Perry. Marilyn attended East Calais Elementary School in East Calais, Vermont before moving to Massachusetts where she attended high school in Holyoke, MA. After high school, she moved back to Vermont and graduated from Community College of Vermont with an Associates degree in Business Administration.
Marilyn was employed as a data entry clerk with the Vermont Department of Taxes before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and of a central Vermont women’s bowling league. Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoyed going to yard sales, having barbecues and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons Dwayne Gibson, Stephen Gibson, James Raper and his children Brittany and Samantha; and John Raper and his fiancée Sherye and their children Kaylee, Kevin, Kassidy, Arlena, Kooper and Kaleb and grandchild Dylan and great-grandchild Lorenzo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Edwin and Floyd Perry, and her sister Lillian Mrozek.
The graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in East Hill Cemetery in Williamstown. Following the graveside service, there will be a funeral service at the Church of God of Prophecy, 241 Quarry Hill Road, Barre, VT. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre.
