ORANGE – Margo Joyce Widmer, 75, of Spencer Road passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin, due to complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born on July 13, 1942, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Donald Ming and Mary Gibbs. Margo graduated from Portland High School in Portland, CT.
On August 29, 1964, she married Paul Freeman Widmer, Jr., in Washington, VT. They first made their home in Washington, before moving to Middlesex and eventually settling in Orange.
Margo was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, bird watching, gardening and being outside.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Widmer, Jr., of Orange; her children Penny Widmer and her companion Josh Harless of Graniteville, Scott Widmer and his wife, Tina of Northfield, and Tina Widmer of Washington; four grandchildren Francis Skiffington, Jr., Robin Skiffington, Michael Knowles, and Natasha Hoskins; five great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Maria, Trevor, Collyn and Adalynn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Skip Lougee and Janet Cronin and her stepfather Raymond Lougee.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Family and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
