Margaret G. Richardson

ORANGE – Margaret Grace Richardson, 84, a long-time resident of Richardson Road, died early Monday morning December 21, 2015 at the Starr Farm Nursing Center in Burlington where she had been a resident since November 12, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 27, 1931 in Orange, she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Barnes) Goulette. She attended elementary school in Orange Center and graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre City in 1949.
On February 10, 1951 she married Kermit W. Richardson in Orange. Following their marriage they made their home at Ft. Hood, Texas, where her husband had been stationed. Following his discharge they made their home in East Corinth and since 1955 at their present home in Orange. Kermit died January 7, 2012.
In 1963, she and her husband opened the Richardson Insurance Agency in Bradford which they operated together until 2002 when they “retired” after selling the agency. Margaret was office manager and bookkeeper.
She enjoyed knitting, cross word puzzles, square dancing and 4H activities with her children and will be long remembered for her loyalty to the Grange on a local, state, and national level. Margaret was also an active member in the Christ Community Church in Orange Center, and her devotion to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her community, and her friends will never be forgotten.
She leaves her 2 daughters; Beth Farnham and her husband, David, of Chelsea and Sue Perreault of Orange and 2 sons Mark Richardson and his wife, Sherri, also of Chelsea and Kim Richardson and his wife, Joan, also of Orange and 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Also surviving is her sister Vivian Butler of Berlin and 2 brothers; William Goulette who made his home with Margaret and Thomas Goulette and his wife, Janet, of Belmont, NH and nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Kermit, and her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Beede, and her brother, Stephen Goulette.
The celebration honoring her life will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Christ Community Church in Orange Center.
Later interment will be made in the Brookhaven Cemetery, also in Orange Center.
Friends may call at the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre on Tuesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
