BARRE TOWN – Marcel “Bud” LaRochelle, Jr., 82, a long-time resident passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, after complications of a brief illness.

He was the son of Marcel J. and Thelma LaRochelle and lived in East Barre for many years. He graduated from Spaulding High School in 1960 and married Janet Dickinson in 1963, they made their home in Barre Town. They have two children, Robert of Glen Allen, Virginia and Karen of Barre Town, Vermont.

Marcel worked for years in the granite industry with his father at his father’s sandblast company.  He also owned Barre Granite Transfer for many years.

He was a lifetime member and former director of the Canadian Club of Barre, as well as a member of the Mutuo.

In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, being outside, and playing cards and dice throughout his retirement years.

Survivors include his wife Janet LaRochelle, his son and his wife Robert & Tricia LaRochelle and his daughter and her husband Karen & David Marsh, his grandchildren Ryan & wife Hattie, Sean & fiancée Hannah, Jaime & husband Matthew, and Taylor & fiancée Megan. He is also survived by his brother and his wife Danny & Joann LaRochelle and his sister and her husband Dr. Jan Guffey and Fred Guffey.

The graveside service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Sylvester Cemetery in Lower Websterville.  There are no calling hours.
