Marcel J.
Dutil
November 5, 1941 – June 6, 2026
MARSHFIELD-Marcel J. Dutil, 84, a longtime resident of Bunker Hill Circle, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
The son of Antonio and Paula (Charpentier) Dutil, Marcel was born at his family home in East Montpelier on November 5, 1941. He attended grammar school at St. Monica’s Catholic School in Barre.
Even after moving from East Montpelier to Hollister Hill in Marshfield, Marcel still farmed with his father. He was a very hard worker and a farmer at heart. Later in life he attended the stone cutters trade school and went on to work as a stone cutter for Rouleau Granite for 35 years.
In his spare time Marcel enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler, snowmobile and of course mowing the lawn on his John Deere Tractor. He also enjoyed woodworking. Every year he looked forward to the Fryeburg Fair in Maine and the moose hunt in Island Pond. Marcel was always willing to help people in any way that he could, always lending his tools and knowledge to people who needed them.
On March 21, 1964, he married Elaine Brown who survives him, he is also survived by his two sons Michael (Nancy) Dutil, and Kevin (Deb Soulia) Dutil, his granddaughter Lizette (Brandon) Lacourse, his great-granddaughter Liza Lacourse, and his sister Arlene Gilbert.
Besides his parents Marcel was predeceased by his son Shawn Dutil, a brother and two sisters.
The Family would like to thank the staff at Central Vermont Medical Center for the excellent care they provided Marcel while he was there.
There will be no calling hours or services per his wishes.
