SOUTH BARRE – Madyne I. Moran, 93, of Cedar Cliff passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.
Born December 17, 1925 in Barre, she was the daughter of Roger and Jesse (McLean) Veino. Madyne attended local elementary schools and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1944. Her parents passed away when she was young, and she lived with the Barret Nichols family until she met and married Stan Moran on October 27, 1946 in Barre.
Following their marriage, they built their home together in South Barre, wintering in Florida for eighteen years before selling their home there and moving back to Vermont in 2013.
She was employed as a lawyer’s secretary at National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier for many years. Then she worked for Jackson Dairy until it closed when she started working with her husband duracleaning rugs and furniture for sixteen years.
When not working, Madyne and Stan loved to hunt and fish together and in Florida, she enjoyed playing golf and biking.
Survivors include her husband, Stan Moran and her sons Michael Moran and Jon (Jack) Moran as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Welhelm.
