LOWER WEBSTERVILLE – Luisa Anita Gomez, 81, of Buick Street, died Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin with her family at her bedside.
Born May 18, 1934 in Barre City, she was the daughter of Ricardo and Fermina (Rueda) Gomez. She attended Lower Websterville Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1952.
On December 17, 1955 she married David W. Gomez at her parent’s home in Lower Websterville. Following their marriage they made their home in Norfolk, VA., Annapolis, MD., and Kittery, ME., while David was in the United States Navy. Since his discharge, they made their home at their present location. He died March 1, 1983.
In earlier years, she had worked as a telephone operator in the Barre office of the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company.
She enjoyed her home and family, yard sales, bingo, and shopping.
Survivors include her 2 daughters; Linda Plante and her husband, Gary, of South Barre, and Anita Slayton of Williamstown, as well as 2 grandsons Timothy Brick Jr., and David Slayton.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, David, and her sister, Manuela Gomez.
Her life will be celebrated and honored with a committal and graveside service at the Wilson Cemetery in Barre Town at the convenience of her family.
