PLAINFIELD – Lucille R. Knowles, 92, of Hudson Avenue passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Woodridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on August 25, 1929, in Barre, she was the daughter of Jules and Anna (Winchester) Alexander. She attended elementary school in Williamstown and graduated from Williamstown High School.
On November 15, 1947, she married Arthur W. Knowles. Following their marriage, they made their home in Brookfield. Arthur passed away in July of 2006.
Lucille was employed as a caregiver before becoming employed by the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Plainfield, as well as the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.
In her spare time, she loved to play bingo, and enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, listening to country music, and coloring.
Survivors include her daughters Janet Seiferth and Marlene Morris; her grandsons John and James Seiferth; and her sister-in-law Theo Hightower as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Arthur Knowles; her son-in-law Rev. Calvin Seiferth and her siblings Calvin, John, Mable, Cesarine, Sadie, and Stella.
The graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. There are no calling hours.
