Lorraine Conti

July 16, 1929 — April 25, 2019

Websterville

WEBSTERVILLE - Lorraine Conti, 89, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, April 25, 2019 after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Born on July 16, 1929, the daughter of Antoine and Anna (Gingras) Bouffard, Lorraine was a life-long resident of Websterville. After attending the Holy Ghost Convent in Websterville, she graduated from Spaulding High School as a member of the class of 1947.

Lorraine married the love of her life, Rinaldo Conti on June 10, 1950. With her husband, Lorraine helped to found Conti Oil Inc., in 1963. For over 25 years, Lorraine worked tirelessly to help grow the business from a single vehicle to the thriving business it is today, operating throughout Central Vermont. After years of hard work side-by-side with Rinaldo, she retired in 1990 and her son Marc took over the company.

Lorraine lived a full life, dedicated to her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, and traveling, but nothing brought her as much joy as spending time with her family. Whether it was watching her three boys, Chris, Dennis and Marc on the baseball field, trading cooking recipes with her daughter Diane, or relaxing on her front porch watching the sunset with her loving husband Rinaldo, nothing was more important to Lorraine than her family.

Upon retirement, Lorraine took the opportunity to travel, including a trip to Rome to see the Vatican, as her faith was always a huge part of her life. Though she traveled and saw the world, Lorraine was always proud to call Websterville home. She spent many years as a member of the Ladies of Saint Sylvester Church as well as serving on the parish council, helping to prepare church meals, or lending a hand in doing whatever needed to be done. When she was not helping the church, she could be found spending time with her grandchildren.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lorraine is survived by her husband of 68 years, Rinaldo; her children, Christopher and his wife, Bonnie of Charlottesville, VA; Dennis and his wife, Sue of Essex, VT; Marc and his wife, Chris of Websterville, VT; and Diane and her life companion, David Dickinson, of Websterville, VT, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Paula; and siblings, Emile Bouffard, Ernest Bouffard, Rev. Paul Bouffard, Claire Bouffard and Leo Bouffard.

Lorraine also leaves behind three special angels, Ethelma Lowry, Linda Dimick, and Shawna Morris-Laurendeau, who worked tirelessly to provide gentle, loving care during her years of illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 217 Church Hill Road in Graniteville. Interment will follow the service in the St. Sylvester Cemetery in Websterville.
